Meet Ms. Mottaz

Meet Ms. Mottaz's Family!

My daughter Elayna and I are very close.  She is a freshman this year at college - I really can’t believe how quickly time has flown!  She is dual-enrolled in the MizzouMACC program and living on the MU campus. She has kept me super busy over the years and let's just say this is an adjustment for me having an empty nest. I am super thankful that we have set up Mother/Daughter dates on Thursdays evenings!

We added two kittens to our household two years ago, and now Aria and Mia are totally a part of our family! They are sisters, but just like kids have totally different personalities! Aria is the chill one and Mia is the rambunctious one -I have plenty of stories to tell about having to clean up whatever mess she has left in her path of destruction - but would not have it any way! Mia is the first one to come up and cuddle with me (which might be just what I need after a long day).

We are a MU fan family! In the fall, our Saturdays are spent watching MU football. We also enjoy going to volleyball matches and women's basketball games. I enjoy reading and a good binge-worthy TV show every now and then! :) Quarantine has brought out my crafty side and I have been getting my hands dirty with several DIY projects around the house.

Just a Little Bit More about Ms. Mottaz as a Teacher...

  • Before this year I had only taught at Rock Bridge Elementary. I am excited to be Trailblazer this year and be a teacher in the CPSElementary@Mizzou program!
  • I started off my teaching career in Special Education, taught 3rd grade for five years, I taught 2nd grade for five years, and this is my first year teaching first through CPSElementary@Mizzou!
  • I was raised in Hallsville and have lived in Columbia since starting college.
  • I graduated from University of Missouri in 2005 and earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education in 2010. I am currently working on my second Masters in Math Instruction and Leadership also through the University of Missouri.
  • To say, "I love my job," is an understatement!!! I really do love spending my days with kids. Having the opportunity to learn along with students is the best part of my job!!
